The Society disseminates and promotes materials science among scientists working in such scientific areas like materials engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, medicine etc. as well as cooperate in its development.

The Society acts through the organization or co-organization of scientific events, the issue of scientific materials, cooperation with different regional and foreign institutions and societies, contribution to the international scientific events, presentation of the Polish scientific achievements at international forums and the development and promotion of the cooperation with industry.
